Skills:

* Deep understanding of the operating principles of vehicle electrical systems
* Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical wiring, batteries, alternators, starters and lighting problems
* Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
* Ability to read electrical diagrams and use electrical terminology
* Knowledge of safety regulations and electrical standards
* Experience with batteries, including installation, maintenance and disposal
* Knowledge of various types of electrical systems including ignition, lighting, charging and engine control systems
* Ability to work in confined spaces and difficult conditions
*Excellent fine motor skills and dexterity

Responsibilities:

* Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems including wiring, batteries, alternators, starters and lighting
* Testing and replacement of electronic components such as relays, fuses and sensors
* Installation, maintenance and repair of batteries
* Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and manuals
* Conducting regular inspection and preventative maintenance of vehicle electrical systems
* Collaborate with machine shops to solve complex electrical and mechanical problems
* Compliance with safety regulations and electrical standards
* Maintaining diagnostic and repair records
* Advanced training and participation in trainings to maintain knowledge in the field of modern electrical vehicle technologies

Education and experience:

*Associate’s degree or diploma in Automotive Electrical Engineering or related field
* Automotive Electrical Certification such as from the American Society of Automotive Engineers (ASE)
* At least 2-5 years of experience as an automotive electrician or related position
