Transmission gasket for Chevrolet Lacetti with automatic transmission (automatic transmission)

The transmission gasket is an important component of the automatic transmission that provides a seal between the transmission and the engine, preventing transmission fluid leaks. This is a thin rubber or metal gasket that is located between the automatic transmission housing flange and the engine.

Signs of wear on the automatic transmission transmission gasket:

* Transmission fluid leaks
* Fogging around the automatic transmission and engine connection
* Slipping or difficulty shifting gears

Required tools and materials:

* Set of wrenches and screwdrivers
* New set of automatic transmission gaskets
* Transmission fluid
* Lift or jacks

Steps to replace the automatic transmission transmission gasket:

1. Preparation:

* Place the car on a lift or block it on jacks.
* Provide access to the underside of the vehicle.
* Clean the area around the automatic transmission from dirt and debris.

2. Draining transmission fluid:

* Locate the automatic transmission drain plug, usually located on the oil pan.
* Place a container under the drain hole to collect liquid.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid.

3. Disconnecting the automatic transmission from the engine:

* Disconnect the electrical connectors from the automatic transmission.
* Unscrew the bolts connecting the automatic transmission to the engine.
* Carefully remove the automatic transmission from the engine.

4. Removing the old gasket:

* Remove the old gasket from the flange of the automatic transmission housing and engine.
* Clean the flange surfaces from any old gasket residue.

5. Installing a new gasket:

* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the flanges of the automatic transmission housing and engine.
* Install the new gasket in place.
* Make sure the gasket is properly aligned and does not protrude beyond the edges of the flanges.

6. Installing the automatic transmission in place:

* Carefully align the automatic transmission with the engine.
*Tighten the bolts connecting the automatic transmission to the engine to torque specifications.
* Connect the electrical connectors.

7. Filling transmission fluid:

* Locate the automatic transmission filler hole, usually located on the side of the automatic transmission housing.
* Fill the automatic transmission with transmission fluid to the specified level.
* Install the filler plug.

8. Starting the engine:

* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Shift gears in different modes to ensure that the automatic transmission operates correctly.

9. Check for leaks:

* Check the area around the automatic transmission for transmission fluid leaks.
* If a leak is found, tighten the bolts or replace the gasket.

Note:

* The transmission gasket must be replaced whenever the automatic transmission is removed.
*Only use gaskets specifically designed for the specific model and year of your vehicle.
* When changing transmission fluid, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
