Operating modes of the Kia Rio automatic transmission:

P (Park): Locks the transmission, preventing the vehicle from moving. Designed for use when parking or long-term parking.

R (Reverse): Engages reverse gear.

N (Neutral): Disables the transmission. The car can roll freely. Used when towing or for short parking.

D (Drive): Basic driving mode. The transmission automatically changes gears based on vehicle speed and driving conditions.

S (Sport): Provides sharper gear changes and higher engine speed. Suitable for dynamic driving.

L (Low): Simulates first gear in a manual transmission. Used for off-road driving or climbing high slopes.

2: Limits gear shifting between first and second. Used for driving on slippery surfaces or when driving with a heavy load.

1: Limits shifting to first gear only. Used for driving in particularly difficult conditions, such as steep climbs or rough terrain.
