Automatic transmission cooling system Hyundai Getz

Target

The automatic transmission cooling system is designed to maintain the optimal temperature of the transmission fluid (ATF) and prevent it from overheating.

Device

The Hyundai Getz automatic transmission cooling system consists of the following components:

*Automatic Transmission Cooler: Typically located next to the main engine radiator, it transfers heat from the ATF to the engine coolant.
*Pipes and hoses: Connect the automatic transmission radiator to the automatic transmission and provide ATF circulation.
* Automatic transmission oil pump: Pumps ATF through the system and creates pressure.
* Automatic transmission thermostat: Regulates the flow of ATF through the radiator, opening and closing depending on the ATF temperature.

Operating principle

* When the automatic transmission is running, the oil pump pumps ATF through the system.
* Hot ATF enters the automatic transmission radiator, where the heat is transferred to the engine coolant.
* Cooled ATF flows out of the radiator and returns to the automatic transmission using a pump.
*The automatic transmission thermostat acts as a valve that opens or closes to regulate the flow of ATF through the radiator. This helps maintain the optimal ATF temperature.

Types of automatic transmission cooling systems

There are two main types of automatic transmission cooling systems for Hyundai Getz:

* Air cooling: ATF is cooled by air passing through a heat exchanger installed on the automatic transmission housing. This system is less efficient than liquid cooling and is typically used on vehicles with small engines and low-torque automatic transmissions.
*Liquid Cooling: ATF is cooled by the radiator and engine coolant. This system is more efficient and is used on most Hyundai Getz with automatic transmissions.

Maintenance

The automatic transmission cooling system should be serviced regularly to ensure proper operation. Maintenance tasks include:

* Regular replacement of ATF and automatic transmission filter.
* Check and replace the automatic transmission thermostat if necessary.
* Cleaning or replacing the automatic transmission radiator to ensure its efficiency.
* Elimination of leaks in pipelines and hoses of the automatic transmission cooling system.
