To unlock the automatic transmission of a Range Rover Evoque with a dead battery, follow these steps:
Required tools:
* 5 mm hex key
* Flat head screwdriver (optional)
Instructions:
1. Locate the automatic transmission release mechanism: It is located on the right side of the transmission compartment, under the air duct.
2. Remove the air duct: Remove the two 5mm hex screws and remove the air duct.
3. Find the automatic transmission release mechanism: This is a small plastic box with a yellow lid.
4. Insert hex key: Insert a 5mm hex key into the hole on the yellow cover.
5. Turn the key clockwise: Turn the key clockwise to disengage the locking pin.
6. Detach the yellow cover: By turning the key, you will be able to detach the yellow cover.
7. Move the shift lever into Park (P): Use a flat-head screwdriver to move the shift lever from Neutral (N) to Park (P).
8. Replace the yellow cover: Place the yellow cover back onto the automatic transmission release mechanism.
9. Tighten the hex screw: Tighten the hex screw 5mm to secure the cover.
10. Reinstall the duct: Reinstall the duct and tighten the two 5mm hex screws.
The automatic transmission should now be unlocked and you can start the car.
