The procedure for properly starting a car with automatic transmission

Step 1: Buckle up

Always fasten your seat belt before starting your vehicle.

Step 2: Make sure the gear selector is in Park (P)

The gear selector must be in park for the brake pedal to operate.

Step 3: Press the brake pedal

Press the brake pedal firmly all the way.

Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition

Insert the ignition key into the lock and turn it to the “ON” position.

Step 5: Start the engine

Turn the ignition key to the “START” position and hold it until the engine starts.

Step 6: Release the ignition key

Once the engine starts, release the ignition key.

Step 7: Wait a few seconds

Let the engine idle for a few seconds before changing gear.

Step 8: Shift into the desired gear

After the engine is idling, carefully shift the gear selector to the desired gear.

Step 9: Release the brake pedal

Slowly release the brake pedal to allow the vehicle to move.

Adviсe:

* Never start the car with the gear selector engaged.
* Keep your foot on the brake pedal while the engine is running to prevent it from moving forward or backward.
* If the engine does not start, check that the brake is applied correctly and the gear selector is in the park position.
*If the engine still does not start after several attempts, consult a mechanic for help.
