Resetting automatic transmission adaptation for Mazda vehicles of different models may differ slightly. Here are a few methods that are commonly used:

1. Reset via OBD-II connector (for vehicles from 2003)

*Purchase an OBD-II scanner and cable to connect to your vehicle.
* Locate the OBD-II connector in the vehicle (usually located under the dashboard on the driver’s side).
* Connect the scanner to the OBD-II connector.
* Select your car make and model from the scanner menu.
* Find the “Reset automatic transmission adaptation” function.
*Follow the instructions on the scanner screen to complete the reset.

2. Reset via battery terminal (for vehicles up to 2003)

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Leave the vehicle for 30 minutes with the battery disconnected.
* Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and let it idle for 10 minutes.
* Switch to “D” mode and hold the brake pedal for 10 seconds.
* Switch to “R” mode and hold the brake pedal for 10 seconds.
* Switch the gearbox to “P” mode and turn off the engine.

3. Adaptation through driving (for cars from 2003 and later)

* Start the car and let it idle for 5 minutes.
* Switch to “D” mode and slowly accelerate to a speed of 40 km/h.
* Release the gas and let the car slow down until it comes to a complete stop. Repeat this 5 times.
* Repeat step 3 at speeds of 60 km/h, 80 km/h and 100 km/h.
* Stop the engine and wait 10 minutes.

Notes:

* Make sure that the automatic transmission oil is fresh and meets the manufacturer’s recommended specifications.
* It is not recommended to reset the automatic transmission adaptation too often.
* If problems occur after resetting the adaptation, please contact a qualified mechanic for assistance.
