Steps to adapt the Toyota Corolla automatic transmission:

Materials:

* OBD-II scanner (preferably original for Toyota)

Preparation:

1. Start the car and warm it up to operating temperature.
2. Place the gear shift lever in the ‘Park’ (P) position.
3. Turn off the engine.

Adaptation:

1. Connect the scanner to the OBD-II connector of the car.
2. Enter scanner diagnostic mode.
3. Select the ‘Toyota Corolla’ model.
4. Select the ‘Transmission’ menu.
5. Find the ‘Automatic transmission adaptation’ function.
6. Run the function.

The scanner will do the following:

* Resets automatic transmission adaptation values.
* Conducts a transmission training cycle, during which the optimal gear shift style for a specific vehicle and operating conditions will be determined.

Training cycle:

Once the onboarding function is started, the scanner will display instructions for the learning cycle. It usually looks like this:

1. Start the car and shift the gear lever to the ‘Drive’ position (D).
2. Accelerate smoothly to a speed of approximately 40 km/h.
3. Maintain the speed at this level for 30-60 seconds.
4. Slow the car to a stop.
5. Shift the gear lever to Park (P).
6. Turn off the engine.

Completion:

Repeat the training cycle several times (usually 3-5 times). Once completed, the scanner will display a message indicating that the adaptation is complete.

Note:

* Automatic transmission adaptation may slightly improve gear shifting and fuel consumption.
* Do not perform adaptation too often, as this may lead to incorrect operation of the automatic transmission.
*If you have any problems adjusting, please contact a qualified mechanic.
