Troubleshooting a washing machine

Eating problems

* The washing machine does not turn on. Check the power cord and outlet, as well as fuses or switches.
* The washing machine stops during operation. Check if the power connectors are connected correctly.
* The washing machine turns off when turned on. Check the overheat protection device or call an electrician.

Engine problems

* The drum does not rotate. Check the drive belt, its tension and wear.
* The washing machine makes noise or vibrates. Check motor bearings and shock absorbers.
* The washing machine is overheating. Check the motor windings for short circuits or breaks.

Problems with the control system

* The washing machine does not switch modes. Check the programmer or control board.
* The washing machine does not change the rotation speed. Check the speed switch.
* The washing machine does not display information. Check the display or control panel.

Pump problems

* The washing machine does not drain water. Check the drain pump, hoses and filter.
* The washing machine does not fill with water. Check the inlet valve, hoses and filter.

Electrical safety

* Carry out work only after disconnecting the washing machine from the mains.

Repair and replacement of components

* Replacement of the drive belt. Loosen the tensioner and remove the old belt. Install the new belt and tighten the tensioner.
* Replacement of motor bearings. Disassemble the washing machine, remove the motor and replace the bearings.
* Reprogramming the programmer. Contact your washing machine manufacturer for instructions.
* Replacement of the drain pump. Pump out the water, disconnect the hoses and remove the old pump. Connect the new pump and install it in the washing machine.
