Chevrolet Cruze Automatic Transmission Reset

Important Note:

* Before resetting the automatic transmission, check the transmission fluid level and add it if necessary.
* Resetting the automatic transmission should only be performed if problems or malfunctions occur in the transmission.
*This process may take up to 30 minutes.

Reset process:

1. Make sure the engine is warm.
* Start the engine and let it idle for at least 5 minutes until it reaches operating temperature.

2. Move the gear selector to Park (P).
*Keep the brake pedal depressed.

3. Turn the ignition on and off 3 times in a row.
* Do not start the engine. Just turn the ignition on and off 3 times.

4. Move the gear selector back to Park (P).
* Stay with the brake pedal depressed.

5. Wait 10 seconds and release the brake pedal.

6. Start the engine.
*Keep the accelerator pedal fully depressed for 5 seconds.
* Then release the accelerator pedal and hold it fully open for 2 seconds.
*Repeat this process 5 times.

7. Turn off the engine and wait 30 seconds.

8. Start the engine.
* Check the operation of the automatic transmission. It should be smooth and without hesitation.

9. Reset is complete.
* The automatic transmission has now been reset and its adaptive settings have been updated.

Adviсe:

*If automatic transmission problems persist after a reset, take it to a certified mechanic.
* It is recommended to reset the automatic transmission every 20,000 – 30,000 km or if problems arise.
* Regular maintenance and replacement of transmission fluid are critical to ensuring long-term automatic transmission performance.
