Checking the automatic transmission by VIN code
The VIN is a unique 17-digit vehicle identification number. It contains information about the manufacturer, characteristics and history of the vehicle.
In order to check the automatic transmission using the VIN code, you need to:
1. Get the VIN code. It is listed in the following documents:
* Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC)
* Vehicle Passport (PTS)
* Service book
2. Use the online service. There are sites that provide the opportunity to check the VIN code and obtain information about the automatic transmission. Here are some of them:

3. Go to the website, enter the VIN code in the search field and click the “Check” button.
Interpretation of test results
The VIN code report will contain the following information about the automatic transmission:
* Transmission type (for example, automatic transmission, CVT, robotic transmission)
* Number of gears
* Year of production
* Drive type (for example, front, rear, all-wheel drive)
Please note:
*Online services may provide different information depending on the available databases.
* Not all information in the report may be relevant if, for example, the automatic transmission has been replaced.
