Tools and materials

* Screwdriver set
* Set of keys
* Socket heads
* Pliers
* Metal brush
* Carbcleaner
* Brake cleaner
* New solenoid valve (if necessary)
* O-rings (if necessary)

Repair procedure

1. Remove the automatic transmission from the car

*Follow factory procedure for automatic transmission removal.
* Be careful not to damage electrical wires or tubes.

2. Disassemble the automatic transmission

* Remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Remove the bolts holding the valve body.
* Remove the valve body.

3. Remove the solenoid valve

* Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid valve.
* Using a socket, remove the solenoid valve nut.
* Pull the solenoid valve out of its socket.

4. Clean the solenoid valve

* Use a metal brush and carb cleaner to clean the electromagnet coil and core.
*Use brake cleaner to remove any remaining deposits.

5. Check the solenoid valve

* Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance of the solenoid coil. It must comply with the manufacturer’s specifications.
*Connect the solenoid valve to a 12V power source. It should click when power is applied and return to its original position when it is removed.

6. Replace O-rings

* If the O-rings are worn or damaged, replace them with new ones.
* Lubricate the new O-rings with transmission fluid.

7. Install the solenoid valve

* Insert the solenoid valve into its socket.
* Tighten the solenoid valve nut to the appropriate torque.
* Connect the electrical connector.

8. Assemble the automatic transmission

* Install the valve body and tighten the bolts.
* Install the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts.

9. Install the automatic transmission on the car

*Follow factory procedure for automatic transmission installation.
* Check the transmission fluid level and add it if necessary.

10. Checking and resetting fault codes

* Using a diagnostic scan tool, check for trouble codes.
* Reset fault codes.
* Start the engine and move the transmission to all positions.
* Make sure the automatic transmission is working properly.

Adviсe

* When repairing solenoid valves, use extreme caution.
*Be sure to wear safety glasses and gloves.
*Do not use harsh chemicals to clean solenoid valves.
* If the solenoid valve is defective, replace it with a new one.
