Selector position | Description

P (Park) | Parking. Blocks the transmission.
R (Reverse) | Reverse.
N (Neutral) | Neutral. The transmission is not locked.
D (Drive) | Normal driving mode. The gearbox changes gears automatically.
2 | Discrete driving mode. Gears 1 and 2 are available manually.
L (Low) | Low gear mode. Used to overcome steep climbs or when towing.
O/D (Overdrive) | High gear lock. Improves fuel efficiency at high speeds.
HOLD | Keeps the transmission in the current gear. Used to prevent unwanted gear changes on slippery surfaces or when driving on slopes.
PWR | High power mode. Improves accelerator pedal response and increases engine speed when changing gears.
Notes:
* The selector lever can only be shifted from position P when the brake pedal is pressed.
* From position N, the selector lever can be moved to any other position without pressing the brake pedal.
* To start the engine, the selector lever must be in position P or N.
*When reversing on some models, the horn may sound or additional lighting may turn on.
