Gear selector

Parking position (P)

* The car cannot move.
* Mechanical blocking of the transmission shaft is activated.
*Used for long-term parking or parking.

Reverse position (R)

* The car is moving in reverse.
*Used for reversing or parking.

Neutral position (N)

* The vehicle is not in any gear ratio.
*Transmission is open and the engine is idling.
* Used for short-term stops, towing or starting the engine.

Driving position (D)

* The car moves forward with gear ratios that are selected automatically by the gearbox.
*Used for normal movement.

Other modes (if available)

Some transmissions may have additional modes, such as:

*Sport Mode (S): Optimizes gear shifting for a sportier driving experience.
*Manual Mode (M): Allows the driver to select gears manually.
*Winter Mode (W): Designed for driving in snowy or slippery conditions.

Selector functions

* Release Button: Typically located on the selector handle and is required to move the selector from Park (P) to other positions.
* Selector lock: prevents unauthorized operation of the selector.
