Connection to the automatic transmission ECU

1. Connect the VAS-5054A or VAS-6154 cable to the vehicle diagnostic connector.
2. Launch the VAS-5055 or VAS-6154 program.
3. Select “Automatic transmission”? “Functions”? “Encoding”.

Automatic transmission coding

1. Click “Coding – 07”.
2. Enter the encoding value. The coding value can be found in the vehicle repair manual.
3. Click “Run”.

Encoding values:

First digit:
* 1: 6-speed automatic transmission
* 2: 7-speed automatic transmission

Second digit:
*1: front wheel drive
*2: four-wheel drive

Third and fourth digits:
*01: standard setting
*02: sport setting
*03: Economy setting

Fifth digit:
*1: torque converter lock-up enabled
* 0: torque converter lockup disabled

Sixth and seventh digits:
*00: standard mode
*01: Fuel saving mode
*02: sport mode

Example encoding value:

For a 6-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive, sport setting and torque converter lock-up engaged:

After coding:

1. Reset automatic transmission adaptations: “Functions”? “Adaptation”? “Master reset”.
2. Turn off the ignition and wait at least 10 seconds.
3. Start the engine and drive the car for some time to allow adaptations to recover.
