Prepare the following materials:
* ELM327 Bluetooth or Wi-Fi scanner
* Vehicle diagnostic software (such as Torque Pro, Carista or OBD Fusion)
* OBD2 adapter for connecting the scanner to the car
Procedure:
1. Connect the ELM327 scanner to the OBD2 port of the car.
2. Launch the diagnostic app on your smartphone or tablet.
3. Connect to the ELM327 scanner via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
4. Go to the control modules menu. Locate the powertrain control module (PCM), TCM, or automatic transmission ECU.
5. Find the automatic transmission adaptation reset function. The name of the feature may vary depending on the software used and vehicle model. For example, it may be called “Transmission Adaptive Learning Reset”, “Transmission Shift Strategy Reset” or “Transmission Reset”.
6. Start the reset procedure. The app will display a confirmation message asking if you are sure to perform the reset.
7. Confirm the reset. The reset procedure will take a few minutes.
8. Once completed, turn off the ignition and wait a few seconds.
9. Start the engine and change gears. Drive several kilometers in different driving modes so that the automatic transmission adjusts its operation based on the new settings.
Note:
* Some cars may not support automatic transmission adaptation reset via OBD2.
*Some vehicle makes and models may require a dealer scan tool to perform the reset.
* Resetting the automatic transmission adaptation will result in the loss of all previously acquired driving characteristics and gear shift modes.
