Method 1: Using a diagnostic scanner
1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the OBD-II connector of the vehicle.
2. Select the “Transmission” or “Automatic Transmission” option in the scanner menu.
3. Find the “Reset adaptations” or “Relearn automatic transmission” function.
4. Start the reset process and follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
Method 2: Using a jumper
1. Locate the diagnostic connector (DLC) jumper. It is usually located under the hood or under the instrument panel.
2. Insert a jumper into pins TE1 and E1 of the connector.
3. Turn on the car’s ignition, but do not start the engine.
4. Wait about 15 seconds and turn off the ignition.
5. Remove the jumper from the connector.
6. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
Method 3: Using self-learning method
1. Make sure the engine is warmed up to operating temperature.
2. Stop the car on a level surface.
3. Move the automatic transmission selector to the “P” (park) position.
4. Press the gas pedal and hold it down for 15 seconds.
5. Release the gas pedal and wait one minute.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 three times.
7. Turn off the engine.
8. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
Notes:
* After resetting the adaptations, it may take a short period of time for the automatic transmission to adapt to the new settings.
* It is recommended to do a test drive after resetting the adaptations.
