Adjusting the Nissan automatic transmission selector
Required tools:
* Hex key (usually 6 or 8 mm)
Warning:
* Do not make adjustments until the vehicle is in Park (P) and the gear shift lever is not locked.
* Make sure the battery terminals are disconnected.
Instructions:
1. Locate the adjustment hole: Under the automatic transmission selector housing, usually near the base, you will see a small hole. This is an adjustment hole.
2. Insert hex key: Insert the hex key into the hole. Depending on the car model, the key may be located perpendicular or parallel to the selector.
3.Adjust Right or Left: Slowly turn the hex key to move the selector left or right.
Note:
The direction of adjustment will vary depending on the vehicle model. Typically, turning the hex key clockwise moves the selector to the right, and counterclockwise moves it to the left.
4. Check the position of the selector: Check the correct adjustment by moving the selector to each position (P, R, N, D, S, etc.). Make sure it shifts smoothly and locks into place accurately in each position.
5. Disconnect the hex key: When you are sure that the selector is adjusted correctly, remove the hex key.
6. Connect the battery terminals: Connect the battery terminals to restore power to the vehicle.
Adviсe:
*If you don’t have a hex wrench, you can use a suitable hex head screwdriver.
* Turn the hex key carefully. Excessive force may damage the gear shift mechanism.
*If you have any problems or are unsure how to make adjustments, consult a qualified mechanic.
