Mazda 6 GH automatic transmission adjusting bolts

To adjust the selector cable of the Mazda 6 GH automatic transmission, you need to unscrew the adjusting bolts. There are two of them:

1. Lever position adjustment bolt “P”

* Located on the lower part of the automatic transmission housing, on the gear shift lever side.
* Has a diameter of 10 mm and a protective plastic cap.

2. Bolt for adjusting the position of the lever “N”

*Located next to the “P” lever position adjustment bolt.
* Has a diameter of 12 mm and a hex head.

Adjustment procedure

1. Adjusting the position of the lever “P”

* Unscrew the plastic cap.
* Loosen the bolt approximately 1 turn.
* Move the gear shift lever to the “P” position and tighten the bolt until there is slight resistance to turning.
* Check that the lever moves easily and completely in all positions.

2. Adjusting the position of the lever “N”

* Loosen the lever position adjustment bolt “N”.
* Move the gear shift lever to the “N” position and tighten the bolt until there is slight resistance to rotation.
* Check that the lever moves easily and completely in all positions.

Note:

* If shifting problems occur after adjustment, consult a qualified mechanic.
* Do not overtighten the adjustment bolts.
