Adjusting the automatic transmission cable of Nissan Bluebird Sylphy
Required tools:
* Set of keys
* Lubrication
Instructions:
1. Find the automatic transmission cable. It is usually located under the hood of the car next to the accelerator pedal.
2. Loosen the mounting nuts. There are two mounting bolts on the cable: one at the throttle body and the other at the transmission. Loosen these nuts using a wrench.
3. Adjust the cable. Pull the cable sheath to increase the tension, or turn the adjusting screw on the cable to decrease the tension.
4. Check tension. Place the cable onto the transmission and tighten the mounting nuts. Press the gas pedal and check if the gears shift smoothly. If gear shifting occurs with jerks or delays, adjust the cable again.
5. Lubricate and tighten. Apply a small amount of lubricant to the cable and its attachment points. Then tighten the mounting nuts until they are tight.
