Method 1: Using an OBD-II scanner

1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port. It is usually located under the dashboard.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Using a scanner, go to the “Transmission” or “Automatic Transmission” section.
4. Find the “Adaptation” or “Adaptation Adjustment” option.
5. Select the option to reset the automatic transmission adaptation.
6. Follow the scanner instructions and confirm the adaptation reset.

Method 2: Manual procedure

Please note: The manual procedure may vary depending on the year and equipment of the vehicle. Always consult your specific vehicle’s owner’s manual.

1. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal for 10 seconds.
3. Without releasing the brake pedal, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “On” position. (but do not start the engine).
4. After 10 seconds, release the brake pedal.
5. Wait 15 seconds.
6. Press and release the brake pedal 3 more times.
7. Start the engine.

Automatic transmission adaptation will be reset. The first time you drive after resetting the adaption, you will be driving in a “learning” mode where the transmission adapts to your driving style.
