Sport mode (S)

In Sport mode, Toyota’s automatic transmission holds gears longer at higher rpm, resulting in more power and a sportier ride. This is achieved as follows:

*Higher Shift RPM: The transmission holds a gear at a higher rpm before shifting up. This provides access to more power and faster acceleration.
* Later Torque Converter Lockup: The torque converter remains unlocked at higher speeds, allowing the engine to send more power to the wheels.
* Faster Shifting: Gears shift faster, resulting in smoother, more responsive acceleration.
* Changed shift pattern: The transmission optimizes the shift pattern for sporty driving by holding gears at higher rpm and shifting less frequently.

Sports mode benefits:

*Higher power and performance
*Sportier and more fun ride
* Faster acceleration
* Increased responsiveness

Disadvantages of sport mode:

*Higher fuel consumption
* Increased wear on the engine and transmission
* Less comfortable ride at low speeds
