Removing the automatic transmission handle Nissan Murano

Required tools:

* Flathead screwdriver or plastic upholstery removal tool
* 6 mm hex key (for some models)

Instructions:

1. Set the vehicle to Park mode (P).
2. Pry up and remove the decorative trim around the automatic transmission handle. Use a screwdriver or plastic trim tool to carefully pry and remove the trim.
3. Remove the hex head screws (if equipped). On some Murano models, the trim trim can be secured with hex head screws. Use a 6mm hex wrench to remove the screws and remove the trim.
4. Pull the automatic transmission handle up and remove it. Gently pull the transmission handle up, turning it from side to side until it comes off.

Installing a new automatic transmission handle:

1. Insert the new automatic transmission handle into its place. Align the handle and insert it all the way into the groove.
2. Tighten the hex head screws (if equipped). If your model has hex head screws, use a hex wrench to tighten the screws and secure the trim.
3. Put on the decorative trim. Carefully install the decorative trim into place, securing it with the latches.

Note:

* On some Murano models there may be another decorative trim around the automatic transmission handle. If so, you will also need to remove this trim before removing the shift knob.
* When removing and installing the automatic transmission handle, be careful not to damage the wires or connectors.
