Removing the oil pump from the CD4E automatic transmission

Tools and materials:

* Set of wrenches
* Pliers
* Ratchet wrench
* Oil pump O-ring
* Oil pan gasket

Steps:

1. Remove the oil pan:

* Unscrew the bolts securing the oil pan to the automatic transmission.
* Carefully remove the oil pan, draining the remaining oil.

2. Remove the oil pump filter:

* Remove the bolts securing the oil pump filter.
* Remove the filter.

3. Disconnect the oil pump hoses:

* Remove the clamps and disconnect the hoses going to the oil pump.

4. Unscrew the oil pump bolts:

* Place the oil pump at the front of the automatic transmission.
* Remove the bolts securing the oil pump.

5. Remove the oil pump:

* Carefully pull the oil pump forward to remove it from the automatic transmission.

6. Replace the O-ring:

* Remove the old O-ring from the oil pump.
* Install a new O-ring.

7. Install the oil pump:

* Insert the oil pump into the automatic transmission.
* Tighten the oil pump bolts.

8. Connect the oil pump hoses:

* Connect the hoses to the oil pump and secure them with clamps.

9. Install the oil pump filter:

* Install the oil pump filter.
* Tighten the filter bolts.

10. Install the oil pan:

* Install a new oil pan gasket.
* Attach the oil pan to the automatic transmission and tighten the bolts.

11. Fill the automatic transmission with oil:

* Pour the required amount of transmission fluid into the automatic transmission through the filler plug.

After completing these steps, the CD4E automatic transmission oil pump will be removed and replaced.
