Removing the engine with an automatic transmission

Materials and tools:

* Jack
* Jack stands
* Set of keys
* Screwdriver
* Pliers
* Watering can with hose
* New filter for automatic transmission (if necessary)

Precautions:

* Be sure to ensure your own safety by using personal protective equipment.
*Remove the engine only if you have the necessary skills and knowledge. If in doubt, seek professional help.
* Allow the engine to cool before starting work.
*Follow the instructions carefully and carefully.

Removal procedure:

1. Preparation

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Drain the coolant and oil from the gearbox.

2. Disconnecting the gearbox

* Remove the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Carefully pull the transmission back from the engine to disengage it.
* Disconnect the shift shaft from the transmission.
* Lower the gearbox on a jack.

3. Engine disconnection

* Remove all bolts securing the engine to the vehicle frame.
* Disconnect all hoses, wires and cables connected to the engine.
* Place a jack under the engine.

4. Raising the engine

* Raise the engine with a jack.
* Place jack stands under the engine for added safety.

5. Removing the engine

* Slowly roll the engine out of the vehicle.
* Be careful not to damage any vehicle components.

6. Replacing the automatic transmission filter (if necessary)

* If you use this case to replace the automatic transmission filter, unscrew the transmission pan and replace the filter.
* Install the new pan and tighten the bolts.

7. Engine installation

* Carefully roll the engine back into the vehicle.
* Reinstall the engine on the vehicle frame.
* Tighten the engine mounting bolts.

8. Motor connection

* Connect all hoses, wires and cables to the engine.
* Connect the shift shaft to the gearbox.
* Reinstall the gearbox and bolt it to the engine.

9. Filling liquids

* Fill the transmission with coolant and oil.

10. Completion

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Check the levels of all fluids and top up if necessary.
* Start the engine and check for leaks or unusual noises.
