Removing automatic transmission adaptation on UAZ Patriot

Required tools:

* OBD-II diagnostic scanner
*USB-to-OBD-II adapter (if scanner does not support wireless connection)
* Multimeter or voltage tester

Instructions:

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner:

*Connect the USB-to-OBD-II adapter to your computer or scanner.
*Connect the other end of the adapter to the vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic connector, which is usually located under the dashboard.
* Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.

2. Install scanning software:

* Install on your computer or scanner the necessary scanning software compatible with the UAZ Patriot automatic transmission control unit (for example, ScanMatic, Launch X431 or Torque).

3. Connect to the automatic transmission control unit:

* Launch the scanning software and select the “Automatic Transmission” module.
* Connect to the scanner and select the make and model of the car.

4. Find the adaptation reset function:

* In the automatic transmission menu, find the function responsible for resetting the adaptation or training the gearbox. It is usually called “Automatic Transmission Adaptation” or “Automatic Transmission Calibration”.

5. Reset adaptation:

* Select the adaptation reset function and follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
* The reset process may take several minutes.

6. Check the operation of the automatic transmission:

* After resetting the adaptation, start the engine and shift into gear.
* Check whether the automatic transmission has returned to normal and whether any faults have disappeared.

Testing with a multimeter or voltage tester:

1. Find the adaptation initialization pin:

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Find pin 59 in connector 60 of the automatic transmission control unit, which is located under the hood. The contact can be identified by an orange wire with a red stripe.

2. Short to ground:

*Connect one end of a multimeter or voltage probe to pin 59.
* Connect the other end to the negative terminal of the battery or to a metal part of the engine.

3. Reset adaptation:

* Close contact 59 for 2-3 seconds.

4. Remove the short circuit:

* Disconnect the multimeter or voltage probe from pin 59.

5. Check the operation of the automatic transmission:

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery and start the engine.
* Check whether the automatic transmission is operating normally.
