SsangYong Actyon automatic transmission drain plug

Location:

* The drain plug is located on the bottom of the automatic transmission oil pan.
* It is located at the rear of the tray, slightly offset from the center.

Tools:

* 24 mm square
* Flat head screwdriver
* New copper plug o-ring

Instructions for draining the oil:

1. Place the vehicle on a lift or raise it using a jack and stands.
2. Warm up the engine to operating temperature. This will help thin the oil and make draining easier.
3. Stop the engine and set the parking brake.
4. Put on gloves and place a tray under the automatic transmission. Place a large enough container under the drain plug to drain the oil.
5. Loosen the drain plug using a 24 mm square. Do not unscrew it completely to avoid rapid oil leakage.
6. Allow the oil to drain completely into the pan. This may take a few minutes.
7. Remove the drain plug and remove the old O-ring.
8. Clean the drain plug and threads on the oil pan.
9. Install a new copper O-ring on the drain plug.
10. Screw the drain plug back into the oil pan and tighten it to 38 Nm.
11. Remove the pan containing the used oil and discard it.
12. Clean the magnetic part of the oil pan and put it back in place.
13. Fill the automatic transmission with new transmission oil according to specifications. Check the oil level and add if necessary.
14. Lower the vehicle to the ground and remove the jack or lift.
15. Make sure there are no oil leaks.

Adviсe:

* When changing transmission oil, it is also recommended to replace the automatic transmission oil filter.
* Use only transmission oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* If the plug or oil pan is damaged, it must be replaced.
