Automatic transmission cooling system Daewoo Matiz
The automatic transmission (automatic transmission) of Daewoo Matiz is equipped with a cooling system that prevents it from overheating. The system consists of the following components:
1. Automatic transmission radiator
* Compact heat exchanger located in front of the engine.
* Consists of small channels through which transmission fluid (ATF) circulates.
* Cools ATF by passing it through metal fins, which dissipate heat into the surrounding air.
2. Automatic transmission pipelines
* Pipes connecting the automatic transmission radiator to the transmission.
* Transports ATF to the radiator and back to the transmission.
3. Automatic transmission pump
* Rotates with the engine crankshaft.
* Creates pressure that pumps ATF through the radiator and other automatic transmission components.
4. Automatic transmission thermostat
* Controls the flow of ATF through the radiator.
*When the ATF reaches a certain temperature, the thermostat opens, allowing the ATF to circulate through the radiator.
*When the ATF cools, the thermostat closes, restricting the flow of ATF through the radiator.
Operating principle
* The automatic transmission pump pumps ATF through the radiator.
* The radiator cools the ATF by passing it through its fins.
* Cooled ATF returns to the transmission, displacing hot ATF.
* Hot ATF is sent back to the radiator where the cycle is repeated.
Service
To maintain the functionality of the Daewoo Matiz automatic transmission cooling system, the following maintenance is recommended:
* Check the ATF level regularly and top up if necessary.
* Replace ATF and automatic transmission filter in accordance with the maintenance regulations.
* Inspect the automatic transmission radiator for leaks and damage.
* Monitor the condition of the automatic transmission pipelines and replace them if necessary.
Note: Neglecting maintenance of the automatic transmission cooling system can lead to overheating of the transmission and, ultimately, to its failure.
