Resetting automatic transmission adaptation on Hyundai Solaris 2019

Note: These instructions are for resetting the automatic transmission using professional diagnostic equipment. Attempting to reset the adaptation manually may damage the transmission.

Equipment:

* Diagnostic scanner compatible with Hyundai
*OBD-II cable

Procedure:

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select the model and year of the car on the scanner.
4. Go to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
5. Select the “Reset automatic transmission adaptation” function.
6. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
7. Wait for the reset process to complete.
8. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the scanner.

After reset:

* Start the engine and let it idle for 5-10 minutes.
* Perform several gentle accelerations and decelerations so that the automatic transmission can recalibrate.
* Avoid sudden accelerations or decelerations for the first few days after the reset.

Reasons for resetting automatic transmission adaptation:

* Replacing transmission fluid
* Installation of a new automatic transmission
* Solving problems with gear shifting or smoothness
*Improved fuel economy
