Resetting automatic transmission adaptation on Ford Focus 2

Required equipment:

* OBD-II scanner
* Connection cable

Instructions:

1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select the “Transmission” option on the scanner.
4. Go to the “Reset automatic transmission adaptation” section.
5. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen to reset the adaptation.
6. Turn off the ignition.
7. Wait a few minutes.
8. Turn on the ignition and start the engine.
9. Let the vehicle idle for a few minutes.

Alternative method (without scanner):

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Wait 10 minutes.
3. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.

Note:

* After resetting the automatic transmission adaptation, the car may operate with jerks or jolts until it is retrained.
* It is recommended to drive the car for about 100 km after resetting the adaptation so that the gearbox can readjust.
