Resetting Toyota automatic transmission adaptation using a diagnostic scanner

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the OBD-II port in the car.
2. In the scanner menu, find the “Transmission” section.
3. Select the “Reset automatic transmission adaptation” function.
4. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
5. After completing the adaptation reset, turn off the ignition and wait a few minutes.
6. Start the engine and let it idle for 10-15 minutes.
7. Take a test drive to evaluate whether the automatic transmission has improved.

Resetting Toyota automatic transmission adaptation manually (not for all models)

1. Turn off the ignition and wait 30 seconds.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal for 10 seconds.
3. Release the brake pedal and wait 10 seconds.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 again.
5. Press and hold the brake pedal and start button simultaneously for 60 seconds.
6. Release all buttons and pedals.
7. Turn the key to the “On” position (without starting the engine).
8. Wait 10 seconds, then turn the key to the “Off” position.
9. Automatic transmission adaptation reset is completed.

Notes:

* Before resetting the automatic transmission adaptation, make sure that the transmission fluid level is correct.
*If any problems occur after resetting the automatic transmission, please seek professional help.
* Resetting the automatic transmission adaptation may not always eliminate all problems with the automatic transmission.
* Some Toyota models may not support manual reset of automatic transmission adaptation.
