Self-diagnosis of Toyota Harrier automatic transmission

You can perform a self-diagnosis of the Toyota Harrier automatic transmission by following these steps:

Required tools:

* Paperclip or thin wire

Procedure:

1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position (do not start the engine).
2. Locate the diagnostic connector under the instrument panel on the driver’s side.
3. Connect the Tc and GND pins on the diagnostic connector with a paper clip or wire.
* Tc: pin number 4
* GND: pin number 13

4. Start the engine.
5. If the automatic transmission is operating normally, the CHECK ENGINE indicator lamp on the instrument panel will flash at a certain interval and number of flashes corresponding to the fault code.

Automatic transmission fault code table:

Clearing fault codes:

To clear automatic transmission fault codes, follow these steps:

1. Stop the engine.
2. Disconnect the paperclip or wire from the diagnostic connector.
3. Wait at least 5 seconds.
4. Connect the paperclip or wire back to the diagnostic connector.
5. Start the engine.

If the CHECK ENGINE indicator light does not flash, the DTCs have been successfully cleared.
