Application:
Chevrolet Matiz with automatic transmission
Function:
Prevents transmission fluid from leaking through the connection between the right drive shaft and the transmission.
Location:
The right side of the transmission where the drive shaft enters the housing.
Symptoms of malfunction:
*Transmission fluid leak in the area of the right drive shaft
* Reduced automatic transmission fluid level
*Transmission fault indicator lights up
Causes of malfunction:
* Worn or damaged oil seal
* Play or excessive vibration in drive shaft
* Improper installation of oil seal or drive shaft
* Aging or degradation of the seal material
Replacement:
1. Prepare the necessary tools and materials.
2. Raise the vehicle on a lift or jackstands.
3. Remove the right front wheel.
4. Clean the area around the drive shaft connection to the transmission.
5. Remove the bolts that secure the drive shaft to the wheel hub.
6. Disconnect the drive shaft from the hub.
7. Using a spatula or special tool, carefully separate the oil seal from the transmission housing.
8. Install the new oil seal by pressing it until it is completely seated in the housing.
9. Assemble the drive shaft and tighten the mounting bolts.
10. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.
11. Fill the automatic transmission with transmission fluid to the required level.
Adviсe:
* Use only original or manufacturer-recommended oil seals.
* Before installing a new oil seal, apply a small amount of high temperature grease to its surface.
* Be careful to keep connections clean to prevent dirt and debris from getting into the transmission.
