Left drive oil seal for Ford Focus 2 with automatic transmission (automatic transmission)

Recommended Tool:

* Wrench set
* Hammer or sledgehammer
* Pry bar or flat blade screwdriver
* Rags or paper towels

Replacement procedure:

1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
2. Remove the left front wheel.
3. Unscrew the caliper mounting bolts and remove it. Hang the caliper from a spring or use a wire to avoid damaging the brake hose.
4. Unscrew the hub nut on the drive shaft.
5. Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
6. Grasp the drive shaft as close to the gearbox as possible and remove it from the joint.
7. Remove the old oil seal from the drive shaft. Use a flat blade screwdriver or pry bar to pry it up and remove it.
8. Install the new oil seal onto the drive shaft by pressing it evenly. Make sure it is installed correctly, with the spring side facing the gearbox.
9. Insert the drive shaft back into the transmission.
10. Attach the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
11. Tighten the hub nut onto the drive shaft.
12. Reinstall the caliper and tighten the bolts.
13. Install the wheel.
14. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel bolts.

Adviсe:

* Clean all surfaces before installing a new oil seal.
* Use only the correct size oil seal.
* When installing a new oil seal, make sure it is completely seated.
* Tighten the hub nut according to the torque specified in the vehicle’s service manual.
