Repair of Daewoo Matiz automatic transmission

Required tools and materials:

* Set of socket wrenches
* Screwdriver
* Wrench
* Hammer
* Chisel
* New set of clutches
* New gaskets
* Transmission fluid

Repair procedure:

1. Preparing the car:

* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
* Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Removing the gearbox:

* Drain the transmission fluid through the drain plug.
* Disconnect the electrical connectors and hoses from the transmission.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Place a jack under the transmission for support.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the body.
* Carefully separate the transmission from the engine.

3. Disassembling the gearbox:

* Remove the transmission pan mounting bolts and remove the pan.
* Remove the oil pump mounting bolts and remove the oil pump.
* Remove the valve body mounting bolts and remove the valve body.
* Remove the retaining rings holding the clutches on the input and output shafts.
* Remove the clutches and steel discs.

4. Replacing clutches:

* Install new clutches and steel discs in the reverse order of removal.
* Install and tighten the circlips.

5. Gearbox assembly:

* Install and tighten the valve body.
* Install the oil pump and tighten the bolts.
* Install and tighten the transmission pan.

6. Gearbox installation:

* Place the gearbox in place and connect it to the engine.
* Tighten the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine and body.
* Connect the electrical connectors and hoses to the transmission.

7. Filling and bleeding the gearbox:

* Fill in new transmission fluid through the filler hole.
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the transmission through all gears and back to park.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.

8. Functionality check:

*Test drive the vehicle to ensure the transmission is operating correctly.
* Make sure there are no leaks or abnormal noise.

Additionally:

*Always use a high quality transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
* Replace the oil filter if necessary.
* Perform regular transmission maintenance, including fluid and filter changes.
*If the repair is too complex to do yourself, contact a qualified mechanic.
