Repair of solenoid block of automatic transmission A604

Required tools and materials:

* Set of socket wrenches
* Phillips screwdriver
*Pipe wrench
* Cleaning solvent
* Solenoid block repair kit
* New transmission oil (ATF)

Repair procedure:

1. Removing the solenoid block

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Raise the car and place it on stands.
* Locate the solenoid block under the automatic transmission oil pan.
* Disconnect the electrical harness from the solenoid block.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the solenoid block to the automatic transmission pan and remove it.

2. Disassembling the solenoid block

*Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the solenoid block cover.
* Remove the solenoids and o-rings from the block.

3. Cleaning

* Clean all solenoid assembly components with cleaning solvent.
* Pay special attention to the contact surfaces of the solenoids and o-rings.

4. Repair

* Replace damaged or worn O-rings from the repair kit.
* If the solenoids are faulty, replace them with new ones.

5. Assembling the solenoid block

* Lubricate the O-rings with transmission oil.
* Install the solenoids into the block and secure them with bolts.
* Install the solenoid block cover and tighten the bolts.

6. Installation of the solenoid block

* Attach the solenoid block to the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts.
* Connect the electrical harness to the solenoid block.

7. Changing transmission oil

* Drain the old transmission oil from the automatic transmission.
* Replace the oil filter.
* Fill with new transmission oil according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

8. Testing and setting

* Start the car and let it idle.
* Shift the gear lever to different positions and make sure that the gearbox operates smoothly.
* If any problems occur, check that the solenoid block is installed correctly and the electrical connections are made correctly.

*Use only high quality repair parts.
*Observe correct bolt tightening order.
* Drain gear oil into an appropriate container and dispose of it in accordance with local environmental regulations.
