Adjusting the automatic transmission cable on a Honda CR-V RD1

To adjust the automatic transmission cable on a Honda CR-V RD1, follow the following instructions:

Required tools:

* 12mm wrench
* 14mm wrench
* Flat head screwdriver

Adjustment procedure:

1. Place the vehicle in Park (P) position.
2. Lift the hood and find the automatic transmission cable. It is located on the left side of the engine, running from the gear lever to the gearbox.
3. Loosen the 14 mm lock nut on the end of the automatic transmission cable attached to the gearbox.
4. Pull the automatic transmission cable towards the gearbox.
5. Select gear position Low (L1).
6. Loosen the 12mm lock nut on the shift lever mount.
7. Rotate the adjusting screw clockwise with a flat-head screwdriver. This will increase the tension on the cable.
8. Rotate the adjusting screw until you feel slight resistance when moving the gear shift lever from position P to position N.
9. Tighten the lock nut to 12 mm.
10. Lower the gearshift lever to position P.
11. Tighten the locknut to 14 mm on the automatic transmission cable fastening to the gearbox.
12. Start the engine and check for smooth gear shifting.

Adviсe:

* Make sure that the automatic transmission cable moves freely without jamming.
* Do not overtighten either the locknut or the lock nut.
*If you are unsure of the correct adjustment, consult a qualified mechanic.
