Adjusting the automatic transmission control drive (AT)
Required tools:
* Wrenches or socket wrenches
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Ruler or caliper
* Device for checking automatic transmission fluid level (dipstick)
Setting procedure:
1. Checking the automatic transmission fluid level:
* Place the car on a level surface.
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift all gears in Parking mode (P).
* Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. It should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks.
*If the fluid level is low, add the recommended type.
2. Adjusting the shift rod:
* Locate the shift rod that connects the shift lever to the transmission.
* Loosen the nut that holds the rod in place.
* Pull or push the linkage to align it with the marks on the shift lever and transmission.
* Tighten the nut holding the rod.
3. Adjusting the gear selector rod:
* Locate the selector rod that connects the transmission to the gearshift lever.
* Loosen the bolts that hold the rod in place.
* Rotate the linkage to align it with the marks on the transmission and shift lever.
* Tighten the bolts holding the rod.
4. Adjustment of the locking mechanism:
*Locate the locking mechanism that prevents accidental shifting out of Park (P) mode.
* Loosen the bolts that hold the mechanism.
* Press the shift button and rotate the mechanism to align it with the mark on the shift lever.
* Tighten the bolts holding the mechanism.
5. Final check:
* Start the engine and change all gears.
* Make sure the gears shift smoothly and in the correct order.
* Check the operation of the locking mechanism, making sure that it does not allow you to shift out of Park (P) mode without pressing the gear shift button.
