Location of valves in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission)

Hydraulic block:

* The hydraulic block is the assembly in which the automatic transmission valves are located.
* It is located on or above the automatic transmission housing.

Main valves:

* Main Control Valve (MLPS): Controls gear shifting and determines supply pressure to other valves.
*Linear Pressure Valve (LPL): Regulates supply pressure.
*Transmission Shift Valves (TVS): Directs fluid flow into various passages to change gears.
* Pressure Relief Valves (PRV): Protects automatic transmission components from excessive pressure.
* Solenoid Valves (SV): Solenoid valves controlled by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) for more precise control of pressure and gear shifts.

The location of the valves in the hydraulic block may vary depending on the design of the automatic transmission:

Internal structures:

* The valves are located inside the hydraulic block housing. They can be accessed by removing the automatic transmission pan.

External structures:

* The valves are located outside the hydraulic unit on a special plate. They can be accessed by removing the hydraulic unit.

Shift valve locations:

* Typically the shift valves are located in a row at the front of the hydraulic block.
* Each valve corresponds to a specific gear.

Solenoid valve locations:

*Solenoid valves are usually located on the back or side of the hydraulic block.
*Each solenoid valve controls a specific function, such as gear shifting or pressure regulation.
