Location and replacement of rear output speed sensor for Honda CR-V RD1 with automatic transmission:
Location:
* The speed sensor is located on the right side of the transmission, next to the drive disc.
Tools required for replacement:
* Wrench set
* Flat blade screwdriver
Replacement procedure:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.
3. Find the speed sensor.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector of the sensor.
5. Using a wrench, loosen the sensor mounting bolt.
6. Carefully remove the sensor from the transmission.
7. Clean the seating surface on the transmission from dirt and debris.
8. Install the new speed sensor in place.
9. Tighten the sensor mounting bolt.
10. Connect the electrical connector of the sensor.
11. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
12. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Notes:
* Do not overtighten the sensor mounting bolt.
*If you have trouble removing the sensor, use penetrating oil to loosen any rusted connections.
* To ensure accurate operation after replacement, it is recommended to clear the DTC using a scan tool.
