Location of the automatic transmission temperature sensor in the Hyundai ix35
The automatic transmission temperature sensor in the Hyundai ix35 is located in the transmission pan.
Instructions for removing and installing the automatic transmission temperature sensor:
Tools:
* Wrench set
* Rags
* Sensor gasket (optional)
Removing the sensor:
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and run it for a few minutes to allow the transmission fluid to reach operating temperature.
3. Stop the engine and let it cool.
4. Crawl under the vehicle and locate the transmission pan.
5. Clean the area around the automatic transmission temperature sensor with a rag.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
7. Using the appropriate size wrench, carefully unscrew the sensor from the pan. A little force may be required.
8. Remove the sensor from the pan and inspect the sealing gasket.
Sensor installation:
1. If the sensor gasket is damaged or worn, replace it with a new one.
2. Lubricate the new sealing gasket with a thin layer of transmission fluid.
3. Insert the new sensor into the pan and tighten it with a wrench by hand.
4. Next, tighten the sensor another 1/4-1/2 turn using a wrench. Don’t overtighten.
5. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
6. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
7. Check for leaks around the sensor.

* It is recommended to drain a small amount of transmission fluid before removing the sensor to avoid spillage.
* Use only original or high quality replacement parts.
