Unpacking a pink automatic transmission on a Ford Focus 2 restyling

Tools and materials:

* Set of keys
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
*ATF oil
* Automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been recently started.

2. Drain ATF oil:

* Find the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan; it is usually located at the bottom.
* Place a suitable container under the drain plug.
* Carefully remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain.
* Screw the drain plug back, replacing the O-ring.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Remove the engine protection, if installed.
* Loosen the automatic transmission pan bolts using a wrench.
* Carefully lower the pan, allowing the remaining oil to drain.

4. Replacing the automatic transmission filter:

* Remove the old automatic transmission filter.
* Clean the surface to which the filter is attached.
* Install a new automatic transmission filter.

5. Replacing the automatic transmission pan gasket:

* Remove the old gasket from the pan and automatic transmission housing.
* Install a new gasket, aligning the holes.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:

* Lift the automatic transmission pan into place and tighten the bolts.
*Tighten the bolts diagonally to ensure an even fit.

7. Filling with ATF oil:

* Fill in new ATF oil through the dipstick hole.
* Fill until the level reaches the “HOT” mark on the dipstick.
* Start the engine and change gears to pump oil through the system.
* Check the oil level and add if necessary.

8. Battery terminal connection:

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

9. Check:

* Check the operation of the automatic transmission by changing gears.
* Inspect the automatic transmission area for leaks.
* Reset the automatic transmission fault code if it has been set.

Notes:

* Use ATF oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Torque A/T bolts to specifications.
*If you are unsure of your skills, consult a certified mechanic.
* Regularly check the level and condition of the ATF oil to maintain optimal automatic transmission performance.
