Disassembling automatic transmission Passat B5

Tools and materials:

* Wrench set
* Screwdriver set
* Socket heads
* Pliers
* Sealant for automatic transmission
* Automatic transmission oil
* Pan gasket

Steps to disassemble the automatic transmission:

1. Remove the automatic transmission from the car. To do this, disconnect all cables, tubes and hoses, and then unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine and transmission. Using a jack, carefully lower the transmission.

2. Clean the automatic transmission from dirt and oil. Use degreaser and a brush to clean the outside of the transmission.

3. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the pallet and remove it. Be careful not to drop the gasket.

4. Remove the automatic transmission filter. The filter is usually located inside the pan. Disconnect it from the valve body and remove.

5. Remove the valve plate. The valve plate is located inside the automatic transmission housing. Unscrew the fastening bolts and carefully remove it.

6. Disassemble the valve plate. The valve plate consists of many small parts. Remove all parts and put them in order.

7. Check the automatic transmission parts for wear or damage. Carefully inspect all automatic transmission parts for worn or damaged components. Replace any damaged parts.

8. Assemble the valve plate. Assemble the valve plate, installing all parts in the correct order. Make sure all parts fit snugly.

9. Reinstall the valve plate. Carefully install the valve plate into place and tighten the mounting bolts.

10. Install the automatic transmission filter. Insert the new automatic transmission filter into the valve body.

11. Install the automatic transmission pan. Install the pan gasket, then reinstall the pan and tighten the mounting bolts.

12. Reinstall the automatic transmission. Lift the automatic transmission into place and connect it to the engine and transmission. Tighten the mounting bolts.

13. Connect all cables, tubes and hoses. Reconnect all cables, tubes and hoses that were previously disconnected.

14. Fill the automatic transmission with oil. Fill the automatic transmission with the oil specified in the repair manual.

15. Check the oil level in the automatic transmission. Start the engine and let it idle. Check the automatic transmission oil level using the dipstick and add oil if necessary.

Disassembling an automatic transmission is a complex process that requires special knowledge and skills. If you do not have experience in automatic transmission repair, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
