Replacement:
The boot is replaced when ruptures or severe deformations are detected. To work you will need:
* New CV joint boot
* New clamp
* Screwdriver
* Pliers
* Grease gun
Replacement procedure:
1. Loosen the hub nut and raise the front of the car on a jack.
2. Unscrew the hub nut and remove the wheel.
3. Clean the splined joints of the CV joint from dirt.
4. Unclench the old clamp and remove it.
5. Move the old boot to the center of the axle shaft.
6. Place a new boot on the CV joint shaft.
7. Install a new clamp on the boot.
8. Tighten the clamp with pliers.
9. Apply grease to the CV joint splines.
10. Install the wheel and tighten the hub nut.
11. Lower the vehicle to the ground and finally tighten the hub nut.
Important:
* When replacing, do not use a boot designed for the outer CV joint.
* When installing a new boot, make sure that it does not twist.
* Regularly check the condition of the boot and replace it in a timely manner.
