Self-diagnosis procedure for Nissan Mistral automatic transmission:
1. Checking fault codes:
* Make sure the engine is off and insert the key into the ignition.
* Do not start the engine.
* Press and release the brake pedal 5 times within 5 seconds.
* Press and hold the brake pedal for the 6th time.
* Turn on the ignition and keep the brake pedal depressed.
2. Reading fault codes:
* The “D” light on the instrument panel will start flashing.
* The number of flashes between long pauses corresponds to the first digit of the error code.
* After a short pause, a series of flashes will follow, corresponding to the second digit of the error code.
*Error codes will be displayed one by one.
3. Deciphering fault codes:
* P0700: General automatic transmission fault
* P0703: Output shaft speed sensor fault
* P0705: Shift Position Sensor Malfunction
* P0715: Solenoid D fault
* P0720: Vehicle speed sensor malfunction
* P0722: Input shaft speed sensor fault
* P0725: Solenoid G fault
* P0730: Solenoid E fault
* P0740: Hydraulic control unit malfunction
4. Resetting fault codes:
*After reading the fault codes, press and hold the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds.
* The “D” light will stop flashing, indicating that the trouble codes have cleared.
* Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock.
Note:
*If all indicators on the instrument panel flash simultaneously, this indicates a fault with the automatic transmission control module.
* If no fault codes are detected during self-diagnosis, this does not mean that the automatic transmission is operating normally.
* For a more accurate diagnosis, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
