Procedure for replacing the automatic transmission drain plug on a SsangYong Kyron

You will need:

* New drain plug (part number: 3604232001)
* 6 mm hex key
* Funnel
* Transmission fluid (type DEXRON III) in the volume required for draining and filling into the automatic transmission.

Procedure:

1. Prepare the car. Place the vehicle on level ground and apply the parking brake.

2. Locate the drain plug. It is usually located at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.

3. Collect liquid. Place a suitable container under the drain plug to catch the transmission fluid.

4. Unscrew the drain plug. Use a 6mm hex wrench to loosen the drain plug. Be careful as the liquid may spill out immediately.

5. Drain the liquid. Allow all transmission fluid to drain into a container. This may take a few minutes.

6. Clean the drain plug and seat. Use a clean rag to clean the drain plug and seat on the automatic transmission pan from dirt and debris.

7. Install a new drain plug. Insert the new drain plug into the seat and tighten it by hand.

8. Add liquid. Using a funnel, add transmission fluid to the automatic transmission to the level indicated on the dipstick.

9. Check the fluid level. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then check the fluid level using the dipstick. If necessary, add more fluid to the required level.

Note: If you are not confident in your abilities, it is recommended that you have the automatic transmission drain plug replaced by a qualified mechanic.
