Adaptation procedure for automatic transmission Ford Mondeo 4 diesel

Prerequisites:

* The battery must be fully charged.
* Transmission fluid temperature should be between 45°C and 65°C.
* The vehicle must be parked on a level surface.

Required equipment:

* Diagnostic scanner
* Ignition key
* Brake tester (optional)

Procedure:

1. Connect the diagnostic scan tool to the vehicle diagnostic port.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select “Automatic Transmission” or “Transmission” in the scanner.
4. Select the “Automatic transmission adaptation” function.
5. Follow the instructions on the scanner on how to complete the onboarding procedure.
6. After adaptation is completed, turn off the ignition.
7. Start the engine and let it idle for 5-10 minutes.

Additionally:

* During the adaptation process, it may be necessary to change gears manually.
* If the vehicle is equipped with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), it must be deactivated before adaptation can be performed.
* If the adaptation procedure does not eliminate problems with the automatic transmission, additional diagnostics may be required.
