Checking the oil level in the Kia Ceed automatic transmission:
Materials:
* Dipstick for measuring the oil level in automatic transmission
* Rags
Procedure:
1. Warm up the car: Drive the car for 10-15 minutes to warm up the transmission oil.
2. Place the vehicle on a level surface: Stop the vehicle on a level surface and place it in Park (P).
3. Stop the engine: Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the transmission pan.
4. Find the dipstick for measuring the oil level in the automatic transmission: The dipstick is usually located on the right side of the engine or in the engine compartment. It often looks like a metal rod with a yellow or red handle.
5. Pull out and wipe the dipstick: Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
6. Reinsert and pull out the dipstick: Re-insert the dipstick into the transmission tube, then pull it out again.
7. Check the oil level: The oil level should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the dipstick.
* If the oil level is below the “COLD” mark, you need to add oil.
*If the oil level is above the “HOT” mark, there may be too much oil in the transmission.
8. Add oil as necessary: If the oil level is low, add the appropriate type of gear oil through the dipstick tube. Use a funnel to prevent spillage.
9. Check the oil level again: After adding oil, check the level again using the dipstick. Repeat this process until the oil level reaches the correct range.
Recommended gear oil:
* Hyundai/Kia Genuine SP-IV ATF
