Signs of wear on the automatic transmission brake band:

* Slipping when shifting gears: Slipping occurs due to a decrease in the compression force of the brake band, which cannot hold the drum.
* Shock Shifts: A worn band can cause severe shocks when shifting as it cannot provide smooth engagement.
* Increased fuel consumption: Slipping and shock reduce the efficiency of the transmission, resulting in increased fuel consumption.
*Hot Transmission: A worn belt generates excess heat due to slipping and friction, which can cause the transmission to overheat.
*Transmission Fluid Leak: Damaged belts or worn seals may cause fluid to leak.
* Humming or Vibrating: A worn belt may make a humming or vibrating noise when shifting gears.
*Overheated transmission fluid: Slip and friction can cause the fluid to overheat, shortening its life.
*Check Engine Light (MIL): In some cases, a worn brake band can cause the Check Engine light to illuminate on your dashboard.
