Signs of a buzzing automatic transmission:

While driving:
* A hum or howl that increases with speed.
* A hum that changes tone when changing gears.
* A hum accompanied by vibration or jerking.
* A hum that can only be heard at certain speeds.

When parked or idling:
* Whirling or humming sound when shifting the gear selector.
* Humming or vibration when engaging reverse gear.
* A hum or crackling sound when switching from “parking” mode to “driving” mode or vice versa.

Other signs:

* Transmission fluid leaks.
* Difficulty shifting gears.
* Slips or slipping of the gearbox.
* Transmission overheating.

Buzz Types:

*High frequency hum: Typically indicates problems with bearings or gears.
*Low-frequency hum: May be caused by problems with the torque converter or gear shift mechanism.
* Variable hum: Varies depending on speed or load, which may indicate clutch wear.

Note: Transmission whining can also be caused by other factors, such as a worn drive shaft or a bad differential.
